Workers outside the motor carrier industry routinely operate company-owned vehicles for deliveries, sales and repair calls, client visits, and countless other job tasks. In these instances, the employer providing the vehicle generally plays a major role in setting safety, maintenance, and training policy. As in non-occupational driving, young drivers are especially at risk. If the inspection is clear, great, if the mechanic finds problems, you will have to get them fixed before you can get car insurance. It is pretty standard in most provinces. Q. I am a semi truck driver. These trucks can be dangerous if you don't know how they work. ie.. they are heavy & therefore it takes lots more time to stop a semi than a automobile. There are "blind spots". "Blind spots" are places like directly in front of us, beside us and behind us that we cannot see even with our mirrors. Other vehicles in these "blind spots" are putting themselves and others at safety risk. Semi trucks also need tons of room to make turns so we make WIDE turns and then we get some other vehicle come up beside us while making this turn and this results in an accident. Drivers of semi trucks must follow Federal Rules that the public is not made aware.
