An automobile or motor car is a wheeled motor vehicle used for transporting passengers, which also carries its own engine or motor. Most definitions of the term specify that automobiles are designed to run primarily on roads, to have seating for one to eight people, to typically have four wheels, and to be constructed principally for the transport of people rather than goods. However, the term automobile is far from precise, because there are many types of vehicles that do similar tasks. As of 2002, there were 590 million passenger cars worldwide (roughly one car per eleven people). Around the world, there were about 806 million cars and light trucks on the road in 2007; they burn over 260 billion gallons of gasoline and diesel fuel yearly. The numbers are increasing rapidly, especially in China and India. From Wikipedia under the

What kind of air compressor should I buy for spraying automobiles? Let me know the hp and how many gallons the compressor should have for use in a place like a body shop. Thanks. Asked by e e in california - Thu Mar 1 20:36:53 2007 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. you need at least a 5.5 hp compressor. I've painted a car with a pancake compressor. I know you've seen the compressors that stand upright, like they're on a dollie. One of these will be fine, don't go buy some 10hp big ass compressor. Use your money to buy a quility paint gun. The price that we will charge is p(x) = 16 - 2x. What is the revenue? What is the profit for producing x thousand automobiles? What is the number of automobiles that must be produced to maximize the profit? Asked by Gwain S - Fri Jun 12 15:52:57 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. revenue: R(x) = x*p(x) = 16x - 2x^2 profit: Pr(x) = R(x) - c(x) = (16x - 2x^2) - (4x^2 - 8x + 3) = -6x^2 + 24x - 3 if you're using calculus, then the profit is maximized when d/dx (Pr(x)) = 0, so -12x + 24 = 0 12x = 24 x=2 If you're not using calculus, then you want the marginal revenue to equal the marginal cost... but i forget how to calculate those without calculus.
