I really need the report to list statistics for trade routes / sea areas and the number of vessels passing through those areas. I can't use AIS data because I am particularly interested in traffic in areas such as the Aden Gulf where the threat of piracy means that AIS is turned off. Can anyone help? Thanks for the advice, Roger M, by Lloyds don't appear to publish that info for free. Do you know of anywhere else where I can get approximate information without having to pay for it? Answered by Roger M - Tue Jul 28 07:53:10 2009 Is it hard to get a job as a maritime lawyer in the UK?
Q. I am doing my masters atm in one of the London's (UK) universities - LLM Maritime Law. Next year, I'm planning to do my LPC course. Is it hard to get a training contract in that field? Where should I aim? What are the job prospects? Thank you. Asked by Jo - Wed Jan 21 17:45:07 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. Don't really know much about maritime law so can't give you a full insight into the job market. However a colleague of mine mentioned that the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) is always on the look out for good quality legal advisers. The IMO is a UN body based in London that specialises in maritime issues relating law, regulation, safety and the environment. It may be worth calling them up and requesting a job shadowing session. This will help you find out more about the subject and develop professional contacts. All the best!
