I really need the report to list statistics for trade routes / sea areas and the number of vessels passing through those areas. I can't use AIS data because I am particularly interested in traffic in areas such as the Aden Gulf where the threat of piracy means that AIS is turned off. Can anyone help? Don't really know much about maritime law so can't give you a full insight into the job market. However a colleague of mine mentioned that the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) is always on the look out for good quality legal advisers. The IMO is a UN body based in London that specialises in maritime issues relating law, regulation, safety and the environment. It may be worth calling them up and requesting a job shadowing session. This will help you find out more about the subject and develop professional contacts. All the best!
