Q. I need to buy an alternator for my stepdaughter's car. She lives 100 miles away, and cant figure out how to tell me what size the motor is. How can I figure it out. Is it in the manual? Asked by Jane Doe - Tue Jun 1 00:35:39 2010 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. Ford install a number of various engines in the Focus. The obvious method would be to look at the registration papers. I'm assuming that you are in North America, in which case, the most usual engine choices are the 2.0L and 2.3L in-line four cylinder engines. Answered by Rollo - Tue Jun 1 00:39:26 2010 How to check whether the motor rewinder has used IP55 insulation while repairing the burnt motor? Q. Generally, after the motor is burnt,it is sent for rewinding & the motor rewinders repair the same. It is very difficult to findout whether he has used the specified ingress protection insulation class. Asked by Girish - Sun Nov 25 14:20:35 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. IP rating is used to determine a piece of equipment ability to work in environments containing water/moisture or dust. This does not apply to wire. The rewind company should be refitting or replacing seals to original standard. There are IEC and ISO standards reputable companies can work to if you are concerned. The type of wire used, should again, be to at least the same level as original. wire insulation is rated by a letter with "G" being fairly common although many rewind companies will wind to class H as standard. If you don't trust the rewind company, then don't use them because the only way to check the insulation class is strip it out, although this is something you may consider if you think the rewind has failed prematurely. Q. My Indesit WG1230 stopped spinning/agitating the other day, it fills and drains ok, the program thing turns ok by itself, i've checked the belt and it is attached ok, and doest appear to be slack. I had used it quite heavily prior to it conking out. The thing I believe to be wrong is the motor and or brushes. I've noticed that if I turn the drum by hand it spins quite freely and doesnt make any noise, whereas when it was working fine, it would have a resistance to turning and would also make a whirring sound. Any ideas how I can test the motor or any place I can take it for testing? also, the motor has a bunch of wires coming from it, not an easy to figure out 2 or 3. thanks for reading. Asked by dodger - Mon Jan 22 21:56:21 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. have you had the motor off does it have brushes some indesit washes have induction motors these are motors that don't have brushes if so get an engineer in you could need a new motor if it has brushes check them if low replace them it should work ok then Answered by hapa1 - Wed Jan 24 03:51:24 2007 From Yahoo Answer Search: "motor" |
